Bureau of Education

Purpose

The Bureau of Education is the operational arm of the Ministry of Education responsible for interpreting policy and setting operational direction and benchmarks, and providing operational oversight to core business processes so that the policies set by the Minister of Education are implemented. This is the only bureau in the Ministry of Education and therefore is responsible for all implementation and operations.

Staffing

The bureau is headed by a manager/administrator with the position title of bureau director. Currently, an administrative assistant, an administrative manager, and various special program managers/coordinators comprise the bureau staff. The bureau's line staff are the four division chiefs, each of whom heads a unit corresponding to each of the Bureau's core business processes - curriculum and instruction, personnel management, research and evaluation, and school management.

Skill sets vary greatly depending on each employee's job assignment.

Products

The bureau produces performance reports, various studies, administrative and operational guidelines and procedures, and other products as necessary based on situational developments and need.

The bureau also produces the operational plan upon which all units of the bureau reference their activities and tasks.
